Sherry Ginsberg Davis resides in Brooklyn, NY with her family. Sherry is a Brooklyn native, and trained at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and at Brooklyn College, with additional courses at Hunter College, Cooper Union, the New York Academy of Art and the School of Visual Arts. Before becoming a mom, she worked extensively as a desktop and computerized production artist. Currently, she is a substitute teacher in a NYC public school. The children whom she has met there have inspire her to create childrens books, as has her own experience as a mother. Here are a few of the artists working in childrens book illustration whose books made her want to do it too: Helen Oxenbury, Lillian Hoban, Allan Say and Amy Schwartz. Her work in watercolor and painted ceramic tile has been shown through the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, and a number of local cafes.
